Browne’s 20-Point Effort Not Enough as Cougars Fall to Feather Rive
The Lassen College men’s basketball team dropped a home conference matchup Wednesday night, falling to Feather River 79-47. The Eagles built a 40-27 halftime lead and maintained control throughout the second half behind efficient shooting and ball movement.
DeCarlo Browne delivered a standout performance for the Cougars, scoring 20 points on an impressive 10-of-12 shooting while adding 13 rebounds for a dominant double-double. Browne was active on both ends of the floor, collecting five offensive rebounds and finishing efficiently around the rim. Sam Hogmalm added eight points, and Jailen Childress chipped in five points and four assists.
Despite shooting 43.2% from the field, Lassen struggled at the free throw line (6-of-13) and committed 26 turnovers, which Feather River converted into scoring opportunities. The Eagles shot 56.1% from the field and dished out 28 assists, consistently breaking down the Cougar defense. Lassen will look to clean up turnovers and build around Browne’s interior presence as conference play continues.
