Lassen Folds, 4-1, to Tahoe's Pressure Defense

Last Tuesday, Lassen Men's soccer hosted Lake Tahoe. Lassen started the game with high energy, driving ball downfield constantly in the first 15 minutes of the game and creating opportunities on goal but Tahoe's pressure defense and relentless offense Final score was Tahoe 4 Lassen 1.

"It looked like we might score at any time, but on a clearance from a Lassen defender, the ball struck a Tahoe defender on the foot and it deflected into Lassen's goal," said Head Coach Juan Paolo.

A few minutes later Lassen got the equalizer on a free kick from Shaun Coyle that found Syed's Ahmed foot, deflecting the ball into the goal. Right before the end of the half Tahoe scored twice on a deflection and a penalty kick.

Again, the second half found Lassen driving the ball downfield missing close shots. Tahoe was still able to find the back of the net on another opportunity. Lassen played a good game controlling the half-line, but Lake Tahoe was able to take care of the opportunities given to them

"It all comes down to finishing what you start, said Paolo.

Lassen had 13 shots on goal and Tahoe had 14. Emilio Martinez came up with six saves.
