Corsairs Top Cougars 5-1
Last Thursday, the Lassen College Men's Soccer Team traveled to Eureka to play the College of the Redwoods Corsairs. The game started very promising with Lassen going on the attack early narrowing missing two goals that were blocked by the goalkeeper.
Lassen played hard and pressured all game long but trailed 2-1 at the half. They continued to pressure but the bad luck continued. The Corsairs took advantage of Lassen's bad luck and won the match 5-1.
Near the end of the first half, freshman Joshua Duncan scored a goal for Lassen with an assist from Arthur Pancoto.
"The goal was beautiful," said LCC Head Coach Juan Paolo. "It was a very hard shot from a very tough angle. Roger Ferreira also had a point-blank shot that their goalie made a great play on."
The Cougars dropped to (0-5-1) in Golden Valley Conference play, and the Corsairs are now (2-4) in the conference. They host the College of the Siskiyous this Tuesday at 4 pm.
