Strong Start: Lassen Softball Secures 4–1 Win at Siskiyous Behind Emery’s Complete Game

Lassen College opened its softball doubleheader at Siskiyous with a composed and efficient 4–1 win on April 19, leaning on clutch hitting and a dominant pitching performance from Lauren Emery. The Cougars wasted no time, scoring in the top of the first and adding two more in the third to seize early control. Tristyn Lenz delivered the key blow—a two-run double—to help Lassen build a lead that held firm the rest of the way.

While Lassen managed just four hits in the game, they made them count thanks to smart baserunning and capitalizing on five Siskiyous errors. Andie Wood reached base once and scored twice, while Cambree Prescott added pressure with a stolen base and a run scored. Lenz's two-RBI double stood as the game's only extra-base hit for Lassen and ultimately proved to be the difference on the scoreboard.

On the mound, Emery was rock-solid in her season debut, scattering five hits over seven innings while striking out three and walking just one. Despite allowing a run in the sixth, she never let Siskiyous gain momentum.
