Lassen Falls in Game Two Despite Late Push Against Siskiyous

After a sharp win to open the doubleheader, Lassen College softball couldn't complete the sweep, falling 9–6 to Siskiyous in the nightcap of their April 19 road matchup. The Cougars dug themselves into an early hole, surrendering six runs in the second and third innings combined. Despite a spirited comeback attempt, the early damage proved too much to overcome.

Lassen's offense showed fight in the middle innings, plating one in the fourth and three in the fifth to cut the deficit. Tristyn Lenz continued her red-hot day with a 3-for-4 performance and three RBIs, including a key double that sparked the rally. Andie Wood added a pair of hits and drove in two more runs, while Shea Jones chipped in with an RBI single.

On the defensive side, however, the Cougars struggled. Four errors—three of them in the outfield—led to extended innings and extra opportunities for the Eagles. Starting pitcher Anndria Kay allowed six runs in three innings, though only two were earned. Abby Lynn came on in relief and kept Lassen in the game, giving up just one earned run over three frames, but the damage had already been done.

The split brings Lassen to 1–1 in early conference play, and while the defensive miscues stung, the team showed promise at the plate and in the circle.
