Lassen Bats Stay Active Despite Setback in Game Two vs. Yuba

In the second game of their home doubleheader on April 12, Lassen College softball showed grit and offensive potential in a 9-3 loss to Yuba College. The Cougars kept pressure on Yuba’s pitching staff, racking up nine hits and drawing three walks, but couldn’t quite overcome a big fifth inning by the visitors. Still, the team’s hustle and heart were evident throughout the contest.

Tristyn Lenz was red-hot at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with a walk and a double to spark the Cougar offense. Shea Jones added an RBI double of her own, and Cambree Prescott delivered a run-scoring single to keep Lassen in striking distance. Lexee Larranaga also contributed with a hit, an RBI, and a stolen base, underscoring the team’s continued versatility at the plate and on the base paths.

Pitching duties were split between Lauren Emery and Abby Lynn, who combined to strike out four batters across seven innings. Emery worked the early frames, while Lynn came in to limit damage late and keep Lassen in the game. Defensively, the Cougars showed flashes of sharp execution but also committed a few costly errors that Yuba capitalized on.

Despite the final score, Lassen’s offensive consistency and fight from start to finish were positives to build on. With strong showings from players up and down the lineup, the Cougars continue to demonstrate they can compete with any team in the conference. As the season progresses, their determination and developing chemistry remain clear strengths.
