Kaawa-Kawai and Lauritsen Earn Prestigious 3C2A All-NorCal Honors

Lassen College softball players Jhan’z Kaawa-Kawai and Taylor Lauritsen added another historic accomplishment to the Cougar season after both were named to the prestigious 3C2A All-Northern California Team following the 2026 campaign.

The honor recognizes the top players across all Northern California programs and places Kaawa-Kawai and Lauritsen among the elite players in the state. Their selections continue a historic season for Lassen softball, marking just the second and third All-NorCal selections in program history.

Kaawa-Kawai was one of the most dangerous power hitters in the Golden Valley Conference throughout the year, delivering clutch home runs and middle-of-the-order production during Lassen’s playoff run. The sophomore first baseman consistently came through in big moments while helping lead the Cougars to their first postseason appearance in 19 years.

Lauritsen also turned in a standout season for the Cougars, providing steady offense, strong defense at shortstop, and leadership throughout the year. One of the team’s most reliable all-around players, Lauritsen played a major role in Lassen finishing second in conference and earning the No. 16 seed in the 3C2A NorCal Playoffs.

The All-NorCal recognition adds to an already historic season for Cougar softball and further solidifies the impact this group had on rebuilding the program into one of the top teams in the region.
