Cougars Wrap Up Three-Game Road Weekend
The Lassen College women’s basketball team closed out 2025 with a challenging three-game road stretch, facing Los Medanos, Napa Valley, and Diablo Valley on consecutive days, December 29–31. Despite tough results, the Cougars continued to compete on the glass and showed resilience throughout the weekend.
On December 29, Lassen fell to Los Medanos 73-45. The Mustangs jumped out early, leading 21-8 after the first quarter and never looking back. Kyleigh Flux and Rachel Ply each scored 11 points to lead the Cougars, while Miliani Crosno recorded a double-double with 11 rebounds and seven points. Ply added eight rebounds of her own as Lassen outrebounded Los Medanos 44-43. However, 33 turnovers and limited offensive efficiency (34% shooting) made it difficult to keep pace.
The following day, Lassen dropped an 84-51 contest at Napa Valley. Crosno led the way with 12 points and 10 rebounds, while Ply added 11 points and seven boards. The Cougars struggled from three-point range (3-of-29) and shot 32.3% from the field. Napa Valley shot an efficient 55.7% and used strong ball movement to create scoring opportunities, finishing with 27 assists.
The weekend concluded with a hard-fought 49-47 loss at Diablo Valley on December 31. The Cougars were tied at halftime and held Diablo Valley to just six fourth-quarter points but came up two points short in the final minutes. Crosno paced Lassen with 15 points and nine rebounds, while Flux added 10 points. Ply controlled the boards with 12 rebounds. Lassen dominated the glass 40-0 according to the box score but struggled from the field (25.4%) and from three-point range (4-of-25), which ultimately proved to be the difference in a tight contest.
While the results did not fall in the Cougars’ favor, the team’s rebounding effort and competitiveness throughout the three-game stretch highlighted areas to build upon heading into the new year.
