Cougs turn in best performance this season
The Cougar Wrestling team traveled to Fresno City College to compete in the Bill Musick Open. The Cougars had three Wrestlers compete in the Men’s Division and one in the Women’s Division.
The Cougar Wrestling team traveled to Fresno City College to compete in the Bill Musick Open. The Cougars had three Wrestlers compete in the Men's Division and one in the Women's Division. Ivan Torres (125) led the Cougars with a second-place finish. Maximo Fernandez (197) and Kale Kreller (285) both had tough brackets and wrestled well but fell short of placing. Sierah Mathers placed 3rd in the Women's division. The team did not place.
"Overall, we are making progress with the season ending soon. We want to peak at the right time going into the regional tournament in a few weeks. We still have work to do, and I feel confident that we can get all our wrestlers to the State Tournament if all goes well. At that point, getting on the podium will be our main goal," said Head Coach Lonnie Nalls.
Weather has delayed the upcoming match with Shasta College and a make-up date has not been announced.
