Lassen Falls to San Mateo Despite Strong Effort from Chandler

In front of their loyal supporters, Lassen fought hard but fell in straight sets to San Mateo (23-25, 16-25, 20-25) on September 27. Olive Chandler led the way for Lassen with 11 kills and 14 total points, while EmmaJay Larsen delivered an efficient performance, hitting .471 with 8 kills. The Cougars showed resilience, pushing San Mateo in a tight first set, but ultimately couldn't overcome San Mateo's offensive firepower, led by Aniyah Hall’s 16 kills. Lassen looks to regroup and bounce back in their next matchup.

Lassen Stumbles Against Ohlone, Chandler and Agee Shine

Despite another strong effort from Olive Chandler and Ayisha Agee, Lassen fell in straight sets to Ohlone (15-25, 21-25, 16-25) on September 28. Chandler tallied 10 kills and 10.5 points to lead the Cougars, while Agee contributed 6 kills and a team-high .182 hitting percentage. Lucy Platz facilitated the offense with 20 assists, but Lassen struggled to find consistent rhythm against Ohlone's balanced attack. Savannah Le led Ohlone with 11 kills, hitting an impressive .450. Lassen will look to bounce back as they continue their road stretch.

Lassen Dominates San Francisco in Straight Sets

Lassen College volleyball team dominated San Francisco in a 3-0 sweep on September 28, 2024, at Ohlone College, winning 25-22, 25-10, and 25-16. The Lady Cougars were led by Olive Chandler, who contributed 9 kills and 13 total points, and EmmaJay Larsen, who added 8 kills and 8 points. The team’s offense was well-rounded, with setter Lucy Platz posting 5 kills and 20 assists. Lassen’s defense was also strong, recording 39 digs and solid blocking. San Francisco struggled to keep up, finishing with a .085 attack percentage, and despite 10 points from Mary Shunashi Hernandez-Elorza, they were unable to mount a serious challenge.
