Milestone Moment: Coach Amy Morris Earns 100th Career Win with Lassen Volleyball
As the postseason wraps up and reflections on the 2025 season take center stage, the Lassen College volleyball program is celebrating a major coaching milestone: Head Coach Amy Morris earned her 100th career victory earlier this year with the team’s thrilling five-set win over Butte College on November 5.
It’s a win that not only added to the Cougars’ strong finish in Golden Valley Conference play — but also punctuated the remarkable career of a coach who has helped transform the identity and trajectory of the program.
Morris, who first coached at Lassen during the 2013–14 and 2014–15 seasons, returned to the helm in 2022 to rebuild a team that was struggling both in the standings and in culture. Since then, her impact has been nothing short of transformational.
In her four seasons since returning, Coach Morris has led Lassen to two playoff appearances (3 overall), a second-place finish in the Golden Valley Conference this year and in 2023-24, and a long list of program-firsts that are now a point of pride in Susanville.
Among the most memorable milestones? The 2023–24 season, when the Cougars posted a state-best 28-5 record, hosted their first-ever playoff match and won their first-ever postseason match. That historic year was also capped off by Catyon White becoming the first Lassen volleyball player to be named All-State.
As she celebrates this 100-win milestone, Morris isn’t slowing down. With a strong foundation built and a culture of competitiveness restored, the future is bright for Lassen volleyball.
Congratulations to Coach Amy Morris on her 100th career win — and for everything she’s done to elevate Lassen Volleyball.
