Cougars' Playoff Run Ends at Modesto in First Round Battle

The Lassen College women’s volleyball team saw its 2025 postseason run come to an end Saturday afternoon, falling in four sets to Modesto Junior College (25-22, 22-25, 18-25, 14-25) in the first round of the 3C2A Northern California Regional Playoffs.

Lassen came out swinging, taking the first set 25-22 behind steady serving and strong energy. But the home team, a well-balanced and experienced Modesto squad, responded in the next three sets with sharp offensive execution and tough defense, closing out the match 3-1 to advance.

Despite the loss, the Cougars finish the season with much to be proud of. They earned second place in the Golden Valley Conference, clinched a playoff berth, and had five players named All-Conference, including three First Team selections.
