Cougars Sweep Siskiyous in Home Victory

Lassen College volleyball returned to the win column Friday night with a convincing 3-0 sweep over visiting College of the Siskiyous (26-24, 25-17, 25-16), continuing their strong play at home in Golden Valley Conference action.

Sophomore Mackenzee Sills powered the Cougar attack, racking up 10 kills on a .250 hitting percentage, while Olive Chandler added 5 kills and served a team-high 4 aces. Setter Lucy Platz kept the offense in rhythm with 19 assists, and libero Pacey Harris anchored the back row with 9 digs and 3 service aces of her own.

Lassen controlled the pace throughout the match, especially at the service line, where the Cougars tallied 11 aces. Defensively, the team posted 57 digs, with strong contributions from Taylor McElhaney (9 digs), Chandler, and Platz. The Cougars limited Siskiyous to a .016 hitting percentage on the night, forcing 32 errors on 122 swings.

With the win, Lassen improves their conference record and continues to build momentum down the stretch. They’ll look to stay sharp as they prepare for the next test in GVC play.
