Lassen Wraps Up Season with Road Loss at Siskiyous

Lassen College wrapped up its regular season on Friday night with a 3-0 road loss to College of the Siskiyous (25-23, 25-15, 25-18), but the bigger story came at the final whistle: the Cougars officially clinched a playoff spot, finishing second in the Golden Valley Conference to earn a postseason berth.

Though the Cougars fell short against a red-hot Siskiyous team that hit .305 as a group, Lassen showed fight throughout the match. Mackenzee Sills led the offense with 11 kills on a strong .286 hitting percentage, while Olive Chandler added 9 kills and 2 aces. Lucy Platz recorded 17 assists, and Pacey Harris anchored the back row with 17 digs.

The opening set was tightly contested, with Lassen nearly stealing early momentum, but Siskiyous found their rhythm late in the frame and never looked back. Led by Sadie Graviet’s 15 kills and Mia Hansen’s 28 assists, the Eagles controlled the match from the service line and at the net.

Despite the loss, Lassen (now finishing second in GVC play) looks ahead with optimism and determination as they prepare for postseason play. With a core of battle-tested players and the grit shown throughout the season, the Cougars are ready to make their mark in the playoffs.
