Cougars Sweep Folsom Lake Behind Balanced Team Effort

The Lassen College women’s volleyball team bounced back in dominant fashion on September 3, sweeping Folsom Lake in straight sets (25–22, 25–14, 25–23) on the road in Folsom, CA. With efficient hitting, strong defense, and sharp serving, the Cougars controlled the tempo from start to finish and earned their first sweep of the 2025 season.

Sophomore Mackenzee Sills led the offense with 13 kills on 32 attempts, hitting an impressive .250 while also collecting 10 digs. Olive Chandler added 7 kills and 5 digs, and Vanessa Lott chipped in 8 kills with a .207 hitting percentage. Setter Lucy Platz continued to orchestrate the attack with 32 assists, 19 digs, and 3 kills, while libero Pacey Harris anchored the back row with a team-high 15 digs and 2 service aces.

Lassen’s offense fired on all cylinders, finishing with a .200 hitting percentage and just 15 total errors. The Cougars also served effectively, racking up 5 aces with only 2 service errors. Defensively, they were solid, posting 63 digs as a team and limiting Folsom Lake to a .101 hitting percentage across three sets.

This commanding win moves Lassen closer to .500 on the season and builds confidence heading into their next stretch of matches. With multiple players stepping up and team chemistry clicking into place, the Cougars look poised to carry this momentum forward as they continue their pre-conference slate.
