Lassen Battles Top-Ranked Feather River in Tough Road Test
Facing the No. 1 ranked team in the state, Lassen College women’s volleyball showed grit and hustle, but ultimately fell in straight sets to powerhouse Feather River on Wednesday night (13-25, 12-25, 18-25). Despite the loss, the Cougars demonstrated resilience and flashes of strong team play against one of the elite programs in California.
Sophomore Olive Chandler led Lassen offensively with 6 kills, while Vanessa Lott added another 6 with a solid .111 hitting percentage. Freshman setter Lucy Platz continued her consistent play, dishing out 17 assists, while libero Pacey Harris anchored the back row with a team-high 14 digs.
As a team, Lassen posted 20 kills and 59 digs, managing to slow the Feather River offense at moments, even as the Golden Eagles hit a scorching .330 for the match. The Cougars also tallied 6 service aces, including 2 from Harris and 2 from Abigail Lynn, showing aggression from the service line.
