Lassen Dominates Mendocino for Second Straight Sweep

The Lassen College women’s volleyball team capped off a successful day with a second straight sweep, defeating Mendocino College in three commanding sets (25–18, 25–16, 25–13) on September 3 at Folsom Lake College. The Cougars displayed a complete team performance, combining aggressive offense, sharp serving, and steady defense to overpower the Eagles from start to finish.

Olive Chandler paced the attack with 11 kills on 31 attempts, while Mackenzee Sills added 8 kills and 14 digs in another strong all-around effort. Vanessa Lott and Abigail Lynn each contributed with 6 and 3 kills respectively, both hitting over .180. Lucy Platz ran the offense efficiently, dishing out 25 assists while also adding 14 digs, 2 aces, and 2 kills. The Cougars hit .171 as a team with just 15 errors across the match.

On defense, Lassen was relentless. They tallied 78 total digs—led by Pacey Harris (13), Sills (14), and Platz (14)—holding Mendocino to a .036 team hitting percentage. At the net, Lynn, Lott, and Smith each contributed to the blocking effort, combining for 5 total blocks. The team also served with confidence, recording 11 aces and just 8 errors, including a match-high 8 aces from Platz.

This win marks Lassen’s second 3–0 victory of the day and gives the Cougars momentum heading into the next stretch of their schedule. With back-to-back sweeps and a growing sense of chemistry on the court, the team is showing real signs of progress as they continue to gel and refine their identity.
