Alexandra Loretto Earns All-American Honors, Wins Manuel Gorriaran Award

Lassen College women’s wrestler Alexandra Loretto delivered one of the most impressive postseason performances in program history, finishing third at the 3C2A State Championships to become one of the first women’s wrestling All-Americans in Lassen College history.

In addition to her podium finish, Loretto also received the prestigious Manuel Gorriaran Award, presented to the wrestler with the most falls in the least accumulative time during the state tournament. The award highlighted her aggressive style and dominance throughout the championship bracket as she overwhelmed opponents with quick pins and relentless pressure.

Loretto put together an outstanding season for the Cougars, earning multiple tournament podium finishes including a first-place finish at the Modesto Junior College Open and a third-place finish at the Santa Rosa JC Invitational. Her consistency, toughness, and attacking mentality made her one of the top wrestlers in the state throughout the year.

Her All-American finish and Manuel Gorriaran Award capped off a historic season not only for Loretto personally, but for the entire Lassen College women’s wrestling program.
